CTC420 – Crafting with New Colours

Welcome to another CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge. A new annual catalogue always brings new colours in the form of the new In Colors and this year we have the new 2023-2025 In Colors which consist of Moody Mauve, Boho Blue, Pebbled Path, Wild Wheat and Copper Clay. But this year was also a colour refresh which they do about every 5 years or so. This means we get some new colours and also some of our favourites from previous In Color groups may come back to join our colour families.

This year we got 4 new colours added to our colour families which are Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly, Azure Afternoon and Pecan Pie. It was also good to see some of my favourite colours return and join our colour families. These are Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Fresh Freesia, Blueberry Bushel, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Misty Moonlight. This week’s challenge of casing a New Colour project from the catalogue is perfect to showcase some of these new colours.

I decided to case the card above which is from page 159 which shows some of the new colours, and created my own version using the Crafting with You Bundle.

I started with a Lemon Lolly card base and added a few paint splatters from the Nature’s Print stamp set in Lemon Lolly ink to the top left corner. I’ve also used Bubble Bath, Azure Afternoon, Pebbled Path and Fresh Freesia in the crafting tools from the Crafting with You stamp set and coordinating Crafting with You Dies. A few Rhinestones to finish off the card, as who doesn’t need a little bit of bling when crafting!

Next up on this week’s challenge is Julia with her celebration of the new colours. Make sure you keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s projects.

Which is your favourite of the new colours? And which is your favourite returning colour? I loved Lost Lagoon so was happy to see that return and also Lemon Lime Twist looks so stunning with black and white. You don’t need to have any of the new colours to join in this week, just case a card that is using them with whatever colours you have on hand. Remember to share your creation on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
